Fifth Graders Study Beach Erosion

Mrs. Muller’s 5th grade class wrapped up their unit on constructive and destructive forces in yesterday’s STEM Lab, performing some cool experiments!  Students focused on beach erosion, analyzing the effects of both wind and water on their “sandy beaches.”  Stations were set up to demonstrate how these effects could be changed by building sea walls, jetties, and levees.  Take a look at the slideshow below to see them in action!

3rd Graders make excavators!

Third grade students have been studying rocks, minerals, and fossils during the first quarter. As we wrap up this unit we made excavators that could be used to excavate minerals (chocolate chips) out of rocks (cookies). Super fun and amazing ideas!
